We've been busy

We started out Pippi hunting...we didn't get a lot but enough for a taste Then ended up swimming

Ara was digging up on the beach as she doesn't like the 'itchy sand' which is the salt water drying on her skin.We managed to cook up a few...some steamed with some herbs and some BBQ'd Ara did have a go...but she kept on thinking they were mussels and the BBQ flavour put her off a little but she's only 2.5 so plenty of time to get into them yet

Away for weekend

We managed a weekend away even with heaps of gardening work that needs to be done. We drove down to Waiwera to stay at the YMCA camp put on by the Haemophilia society.
After the amazing heat wave and me just about melting onto the floor we have gone round to a nice temperature and rain.

So Pat and Selwyn I think we've had about 90mm of rain possibly more as the rain gauge didn't go far enough. Rain has pretty much filled our tanks up again which is great. So with hope you've not lost too many plants. I know in our garden we've lost a few trees...but that's just the way it goes.

At the camp I'd packed our bags for heat. I just managed to throw in too many blankets and jumpers for us all (the girl guide in me?) but I didn't think to pack major rain gear. While we missed out on orienteering Dave managed to get into some kayaking (was very cold but seemed to be having fun). Dave was just saying last night at how he kept wondering why his tummy felt sore and then realised that it was from kayaking...he needs to do some more ;-) When all the Dad's have not got their hands so fill with babies ;-)

Next Bub has been very wriggly and keeping me awake most nights. I've tried to get Ara to take a photo of me but the coordination between eyes and finger is not there yet.
As the camp was at Waiwera we had many hours in the hot pools which was wonderful. Ara has learnt to float with her flutter wings, while the Bub was treated to a very relaxed Mum while I tried floating different ways...heaven.

So we missed out on the bush walks and playing on the beach but we had a wonderful time in a fully enclosed toddler proof environment. There were heaps of other children for Ara play with and lots of toys...and luckily an indoor room in which to have as much squealing fun as possibly.

Dave then drove us through the new tunnel which was lovely - the lead up to it heading north that is with all the trees. Ara kept asking if it was going to be dark, which it is not really as there are so many lights.
Dave sent me a text after his drive down last night saying he likes the new road...90mins from our door to Sheida's...great (I'm thinking of the possibly future in needing to get home quick ;-))

Now we are just awaiting the arrival of Kez and friends and the possibility of pippi hunting though it looks very grey and cool again.

What a weekend

Well Dave flew home...and had no "jet lag" that can be seen....WOW!
We managed to go to the markets and have a semi normal Saturday doing the cafe catch up with the Boyes and the Shrimptons (up for a break).
I got to spy a look at the lovely Aleisha with baby Esmee. Kind of set my heart up in my mouth that it will be us soon...time is just going so fast and Ma keeps telling me "you just don't know how long it takes to get ready for a baby" ;-)

Its just so hot! The last few days I've just been melting with the heat.

We then had a lovely Sunday with Tony, Bec's and Kane for lunch...GREAT to see you guys and thanks so much for coming down.
Then we also managed to wrangle a visit out of Jack, Anita and Lua....Lua tried out Next Bubba's bed. I think it was a thumbs up on that.

Mum's been up this morning helping me with the garden. Just done a large pick of the tomatoes...and now are cooking them up. I've just about filled up our deep freeze and Mum's taking some down to Nana's to fill now. So tomato tomato.
Well back too it

So much to do

Oh goodness it is soooooo hot and Dave is out there digging this path around the back. Its all very exciting as its slowly coming together. Every so often I've been going to the quarry with Mum and Dad to get a load of rocks so that Dave can then build on the weekend. Up until the last visit Dad and I have been able to work as a team getting the rocks up on the trailer but now with my bump and Dad's hernia operation we are on to smaller rocks...I think Dave has breathed a little relief over that.

Ara has decided that path building is not her thing and wants morning tea....well whats the difference between morning and afternoon tea she's got the right time anyway ;-)
