August 2009

Having some tummy time with Dadda. Mum's often to rushed to put me down, but Dad and I get down on the floor...I can't wait to play games with my big sister I follow her every move.
Ara was very excited to open gift from the other side of the world. These lovely Aunts and Uncle just seem to know what a growing girl needs. Hamish jumped right into the bib's (mega drul going on here and in winter its hard for poor Mum to keep me warm and dry).
Hamish is trying to put his ideas in to which pair of jam jams should be warn to bed. Both are playing on the material I was trying and now have made into another sling...thanks to a major explosion which I could not contain Hamish needed a new sleeping spot...took him about 10mins before he settled into the new shape but is now happy to have either.
Having a rest. After a day of rush round after Ara at playcentre I just need to stop for a few minutes (I've been looking for a rocking chair on trade me...they just seem so good and Ara still likes to have hugs and story time..... on the other knee)
Just kicking back in my 'jail jams'
Was laughing with Dave saying that Hamish looks like 'mini me'
Ara is the first one to get to Hamish if he needs someone to talk too and I can see once he's a little bigger she'll be trying to pick him up....the first thing Hamish thinks about in the morning is Ara (well after milk) and will often struggle to see her (at 6am....huff) and will try to crawl over me to get to her...oh dear what's it going to be like when he can crawl.
Ara is colouring in this great book....re-useable colouring in book and colour with water...once you've done it let it dry and do it again....LOVE IT!

Winter has us all wraped up

Its been cold...but then again not.
I try to get out every day...holidays have been hard and we know the shop keepers by first name.

Hamish is growing fast and doing well...you may not see it here but he's very tall...maybe he'll take after the rest of his family ... both sides ;-) We also have some little points of teeth ahhh I hope that stops for a little while.

Griffin has been eatting us out of house and home...and I've been pretty much matching him...he's been doing his cat-ly duty of keeping Ara company while sleeping.
Ara has been helpping make cakes...my lovely birthday cake...gluten free banana with chocolate icing...yummy!!!

Hamish has just turned into heaps of smiles and laughs...

This photo is to say we do get our hair up some times but its a bit of a mission

I feel good and can't wait till summer.

So finaly an up date

We have been jumping for joy

And giving lots of kisses

Having lots of smiles....Hamish just loves his big sister and follows her with his eyes everywhere she goes.

Ara is trying on all the dress ups

And looking more and more angel like every day

Hamish's favorite past time is sleeping. We've managed to get a handle on the colic with my diet changes so we are getting much more sleep now...in fact its almost great (as you can have with a new born)...but I long for cheese, pasta, bread, crackers...but not long now.

Hamish is really fitting the name I feel. For me Hamish has always been a big person...Dad laughs and says if he keeps on going the way he is he'll be having to duck to get through the doorways.

We are into 3-6months clothes already and even some of the t-shirts I've had to start putting aside...oh the beginning of more clothes. $$$
Dave was not too keen on the pack that I made for Ara...I used it as a backpack while pregnant with Hamish so we could get up the back of our property (she was not too keen either as "I'm a big girl now") But this 'pack' Mei Tai is just great...we also need to keep Hamish upright to keep the colic at bay.

I get stopped down town by many of the old lady friends of Nana and they all say "Oh a purple hat"....hey its a middle colour like yellow, green or orange...isn't it?

This is Kate our wonderful midwife...sad that we've not got a good photo of you Kate we'll have to catch up in the future. Kate really took the bull by the horns (bull aka Megan)....Ara asked the other day "Why couldn't Kate come here (Home) when Hamish needed to come out and get him out here"....I told her I was too chicken.
Kate is an Attachment Parent her self so she has many of the same views as Dave and myself and it made choices so much easier.
I'm sure many of you know how much I like to plan things...and as much as what you can plan birth...it all went as I dreamed to the point that we got to come home in time to have an afternoon nap with Ara.

Dave here with a few work calls and me trying to keep up with the house cleaning ;-)

Well its been a bit hard learning how to type again with one hand or while breastfeeding but there we are.
Ara has become quite the photographer...and Hamish is happy to smile
I hope to keep up to date now...so do hang in there.
Love to you all
