Holiday's

Katie's family came up to have a holiday.
Thank you so much guys it was wonderful.

Sorry about being a bit of a stick when it came to getting round the rocks but the waves were just too big for me.

We had aimed to do the cliff top walkway but the tide was really high and me with my clicky hips walking on sand and scampering round big waves really didn't feel all that keen.
Next time.

Bubba Noooo

Nana was up the other day and we went for a walk. Ara just loves picking the berries and once we had finished at one tree she was off round the courner and up ontop of the retaining wall and down to the strawberries. I had to run to keep up.

I looked over the berries but could see none that were really ready. One was very close and Ara kept wanting to pick it. I told her that it was not ready yet and it needed to be red.
She knows what I mean as Dave has taught her but still she wanted to pick it.
Then finally she began to speak.
"Bubba Nooo" and she would bend down to pick the berry.
I thought she was saying that she should not touch it and I was saying yes that's right we leave it till its ripe.
Then again she would try and pick it saying Bubba nooo.

Then finally the penny dropped...thick Mumma.
Bubba is the name she has given the little turkey...AND Bubba and Mumma turkey eat the berries.
So long and short of it. Ara wanted to eat the berries so Bubba wouldn't get them even if they were not ripe yet.

Family time

Yesterday Ara and I spent the afternoon with friends and family to celebrate the life of Arasteh's Father Mahmud who passed away on 31 December.
We had a close time.

O SON OF BEING! Thy Paradise is My love; thy heavenly home, reunion with Me. Enter therein and tarry not. This is that which hath been destined for thee in Our kingdom above and Our exalted dominion.

Waipu creek

I took Ara up to this water fall in winter some time a ways back. It looked really lovely.
I really enjoyed my little dunk in the water the other day here even though it was pretty cold. Ara at first seemed a little unsure about the coolness of the water but soon began to throw rocks in the small pools while we watched Dadda climb up to look closer at the falls. She would spend a little time throwing rocks then run back to see if she could still see David. As Dave made his way back down to the lower pool that we had been playing in Ara rushed round the rocks and dove into the water to try and get to Dave. A mad dash by both us to pull her out of the water. She was a bit upset but with a little comfort she was keen to get back in.

My last photo of 2007

We had a lovely time with Dean, Katie (bump), Michelle, Alex, Roy, Dave, Ara and myself.
We had a lovely BBQ. I think every flavour was triple is was all sooooo good. Roy really shone with his cooking skills. The weather was great and Ara was a little star.

Waipu Christmas Parade

Our parade is held on the 24th which I think is great it really gets people in the mood rather than having to wait a few days or even weeks before the "Fat Man" arrives.
So here are a few photos
