Olives, Wasps and a New tooth

Nana made a really nice dinner last night. Black olives, Chicken bits, Choritzo sauage sliced, Lemon slices, Garlic, cooked in a hot oven 200 for about half an hour with 1/2cup of chicken stock.
Ara spent most of the night going from one plate to another seeing how many olives she could get...oh well.
These two in the photo are looking down the blocks at some very sleepy wasps. Not there now.
AND FINALY Ara's tooth has come through. I was begining to think that it was not going to happen as the molars were starting and no sign of the bottom middle.

Another Sunny Autumn Day

We've been over to Kaiwaka coffee group for the first time in ages.
Great to see everyone with their children growing so fast. All taking off with each others food or begging to another Mum for what is ever in the food pot.
Its a pitty that both the coffee group and playcentre clash but as Ara gets older she'll start enjoying larger toys and bigger kids so playcentre will win over. But for the time she's in the middle.

We've been meaning to head down to Auckland to catch up with friends so a quick few calls and tex's last night and we've got our selves sorted. We want to see as many people as we can and let any children run around and have fun so its off to the zoo.
I can't wait I love the zoo. I've no idea what Ara will think of it but I'm sure it will be the first time of many.

We don't often get photos of Dave or myself with Ara so here's one in the sun. Good kiwi kid with no shoes.

An afternoon at the beach

Dave's sprint down to Auckland to visit a prospective new client turned into a longer day than expected with some work with Honeywell. Oh well that's the way it goes when your self employed.

So the afternoon off to make up for it and we went to the beach. Ara was trying to eat the sand off her little toy spade but settled for a shell instead.
Dave went for a swim as it was not really all that cold. Ara spent most of her time calling out to him and running down the beach towards him in the water.

Who is training who?

I've finally convinced Griffin that he needs to stay with Ara for her afternoon nap. Today I think he's happy to oblige me considering its raining and cold.
We've joined up with Play centre. WHAT FUN!! I really wish we had a slide as that is was Ara makes a b line for at the moment. Oh well its just down the road not far from Nana and Grandpa's place.
Yesterday was a very full day for me...if you told me 6 months ago that I would be vacuuming the whole house, changing washing the sheets on and off the line, Play centre for an hour, visiting Nana, mowing the lawn, folding and putting away as well as making dinner I would of laughed at you. I'm tired today but that's cool. Just goes to show what I can do with a baby on my back or holding out pegs for me.

Going Gluten free, Kelly and the pizza

Well we've decided that we're going to try out going gluten free. Its been and interesting week with both Dave and I looking in the fridge or the pantry to see what we CAN eat. I've really got into cooking again with some really yummy stuff coming out.

We had Kelly up last night for a pizza...gluten free. Was dough was VERY runny as we tried to make it in the bread maker. But the outcome was great! I managed to eat more than both Dave and Kelly.
Was great to have you up here Kelly and hope to have you over again soon. x (The kiss is from Ara she's battling me for the key board) Good to hear the news about Tony and Bec's....love to you both.

Nana went up and broke Grandpa out of hospital today. He was in for suspect knee and hip damage from an altercation with getting in the door greeting a friend and placing the walking stick in the wrong place. Was a blessing in disguise as the Doctors found his heart meds were out making things a little toxic and he had a chest infection.

Ma and Pa are also off today to Thailand then on to Burma and then...well I'll have to look at the fridge for where after that but I'll keep you up to date.
