Eating banana muffins
I made some banana muffins which are great as its mostly banana with a little chocolate ;-)
Banana Muffins
(makes 12 muffins)
3 or 4 Large bananas, mashed
1/2 cup white sugar (or 1 cup for the sweet tooth)
1 slightly beaten egg
1/3 cup melted butter
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups flour....or just use self raising flour and put all ingredients in together
Mix the mashed banana, sugar, egg and butter together.
1 slightly beaten egg
1/3 cup melted butter
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups flour....or just use self raising flour and put all ingredients in together
Mix the mashed banana, sugar, egg and butter together.
Set aside.
In a separate bowl, mix together baking soda, baking powder, salt and flour.
Mix wet and dry ingredients all together, being careful not to over-stir...you listening Nana?
Pour into greased muffin tins, and bake in 180 oven for approximately 20 minutes.
I thought that I could convince Ara to play in the sandpit for a few minutes while I ate my own muffin and read my homework book from the midwife "Immaculate Deception II" wow stuff!
But no...no sooner I had sat down with my muffin did I have to get back up and pull prickles out of Ara's feet. Ara then discovered another Muffin and the hammock I'd put up in the trees.
Then once the muffin was mangled too much for Mum to even recover it was off to collect the days tomato, some corn for dinner, water the courgettes and think of a curry that Ara might eat too....hummm? Miss you darling and not just for your curry eating skills.

Eating out of Griffin's bowl
No she didn't! But it was one of those times where a child says something and the parent rolls their eyes.
Our cat gets to eat out of small glass bowls for ease of cleaning. We also freeze his meat in little balls so we can just get out one in the morning and pop it in his bowl and its defrosted by the time he comes in in the morning.
I took Ara down to the pizza barn for dinner the other night for Anita's birthday. We did really well and as a reward (and for Mum to sit a while longer) I ordered an ice cream Sunday. It arrived in a little bowl which looked just like the bowl we feed the cat in...and the ice cream of course was in balls.
"Look" says Ara "I've got a bowl just like Griffin's...and its got cat balls in it too"
Been a long time away
Its been a long time away... I've been pretty tired running round after Ara and myself (the next baby really).
As with most bloggers I've seen that over the summer months blogging drops to an all time low as there is just so much to do outside.
I hope to bring you a lot of up date photos of what has happened over the last few months...and yesterday!
I'm not one for photos of myself but its really the next bubba I'm trying to show you here. We are on the lawn at Pat and Selwyns.

Five in the bed and the little one said
"Meow?" says Griffin.
"What….oh no….Oh my poor ears, my eyes, my whiskers……oh my POOR TAIL!"
Yes there soon to be an extra…and it is actually the little one at the moment only being a blip in the size of things. I've just found it very hard (as with last time) to keep anything quiet…I've got all day sickness again (and night). So we are only in the early days and with luck and love we'll hold onto it for the 9 months needed to grow…well we are due May the 4th.
Even though I'm finding it hard with being sick it’s not as bad as when I was pregnant with Ara…I couldn't move without throwing up….I couldn't eat anything (well I must of kept something down but not much) for about 4 months.
This one seems to be following in its parent’s footsteps and liking curry…eh?
So while we are excited…Ara is calling it the next bubba…it’s taking a little while to come to terms with the extreme tiredness and the loss of food.
Dave and Ara are both angles and running round after me…Ara reminding me as I turn green to go to the toilet…Dave single handedly looking after Ara on the weekends and cooking me dinner - RIGHT NOW.

Going to the Zoo
I drove down to Auckland in case Kitty needed me and while I waited I took Ara too the Zoo.
Thanks Chelz for coming with us at the drop of a hat.
I was very excited to take Ara to the zoo as last time she was just a little bit too small. We have been watching "The Lion Man"...so Ara calls lions Lion Man.
The first thing she wanted to do when we came up to the lion enclosure was get in with them and was most put out that we could not do this.
My battle with shoes was lost very early on and Ara managed to walk around just about the whole complex with none on. I can see in summer this visiting the zoo is going to be even better.
Maxine (Ara's little favorite toy) got held up to see the real Meerkats - I have to say I was really worried as Ara got down grabed Max and looked as if she was about to throw Max in the cage.
In all a stress free day...even though we are in the middle of learning about going to the bathroom.
